Company
The company was founded in 1971 as a sole proprietorship and converted into a family-owned public limited company in 1989. We have been a member of the SwissFactory.Group since 2024.
ATRENA AG operates in two locations and employs around 25 staff:
Administration, design and toolmaking are based in Ziegelbrücke, Glarus North, whilst series production takes place in Mesocco, Glarus.
We supply customers worldwide from our ready-made parts warehouse in Berneck, St. Gallen – on time and at competitive prices
Trainees
Every two years, we train a polymechanic (EFZ) at our site in Ziegelbrücke.
Our apprentices benefit from the following advantages:
- Integrating apprentices into production operations
- From the very start, our apprentices work on ‘real’ parts that are used in our tools
- Work on conventional machines (lathes, milling machines, grinding machines) and modern CNC-controlled machining centres
- At our company, tools are manufactured from start to finish, and the apprentices are involved in the process
- The basic training at ATRENA AG also includes learning about and applying heat treatments and hardening processes
- Our apprentices are assigned to tool assembly in their fourth year of training
- Inter-company courses take place at the Ziegelbrücke vocational school (a 5-minute walk from our premises)
- Good public transport links
- A close-knit team that supports one another
